Crown West plans new multibuilding industrial park in northeast Spokane Valley

Spokane Valley-based Crown West Realty LLC plans to develop a 600,000-square-foot, multibuilding industrial park on nearly 40 acres of vacant industrial land that it has purchased on Barker Road in Spokane Valley.

The company, which owns and operates the massive Spokane Business & Industrial Park in the Valley, plans to break ground on the first building at the site before the end of 2021 and will complete that structure by April 2022, says Dean Stuart, vice president of Crown West. The first of the buildings will be a 120,000-square-foot concrete, tilt-up distribution center with 36-foot–high ceilings.

The rest of the site will be used for build-to-suit projects, with the potential for buildings with up to 450,000 square feet, says Stuart. Altogether, the site can host up to 600,000 square–feet of warehouse space. The company will focus on a distribution-centered industrial park, although manufacturing companies may also find the location appealing.

Crown West purchased the property, located on the southeast corner of Barker Road and Garland Avenue, in January for $7 million through its holding company Crown-Barker LLC, according to Spokane County Assessor’s Office records.

The planned industrial park, dubbed the Barker Logistics Center, is located just east of the Spokane Business & Industrial Park, at 3808 N. Sullivan Road.

Crown West also is currently working on the 500,000-square-foot Euclid Logistics Center, at the northwest corner of Euclid Avenue and Flora Road within the SBIP. The second of four buildings is currently underway, with construction set to be completed by May.

Spokane Valley-based Divcon Inc. is the contractor on that project, which was designed by Russell C. Page Architects PS, of Spokane.

Crown West is a full-service real estate investment, development, and management firm that has offices in Spokane, New York City, Denver, and Phoenix.
