As one of the most trade dependent states in the U.S., Washington has a host of organizations available to assist with beginning or expanding your international trade efforts. Additionally, a number of federal agencies and private trade resources are also available. 

Export Washington

A service of the Washington State Department of Commerce - Business Services Division is the source for Washington State businesses that want to begin exporting or expand their existing export activities. Export Washington also administers the Export Voucher Program which offers qualified companies new to exporting or expanding into new export markets up to $5,000 for export-related expenses.

US Export Assistance Center of Washington

The U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce is a federal government agency dedicated to helping small- to medium-sized companies with their exporting strategies.

The International Trade Administration (ITA) works to improve the global business environment and helps U.S. organizations compete at home and abroad. The ITA has numerous resources including country commercial guides, top market series, and how to export guides.

Export Finance Assistance Center of Washington

The Export Finance Assistance Center of Washington (EFACW) was created by the Washington State legislature in 1983 to provide free export finance advice and counseling assistance to small and medium sized exporters or prospective Washington State-based exporters.

Northwest Trade Adjustment Assistance Center

Federal grant funding is available to manufacturers, producers and service providers experiencing import competition. The federal TAA for Firms program, informally referred to as “Made in America  Grants," offers funding up to $75,000 in matching grant funds for U.S. businesses that have been hurt by import competition. Companies may be eligible to fund multiple projects that improve any aspect of business operations. Northwest TAAC can quickly assess eligibility and assist with qualifying at no cost or obligation to the company. Northwest Trade Adjustment Assistance Center (NWTAAC) is a private non-profit organization, funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration, that implements the TAA for Firms program in four Northwestern states.
