New farmers market opens in Mirabeau Park
A new farmers market opened in Spokane Valley in June. Located at CenterPlace Regional Events Center in the parking area near Discovery Playground, the market will operate every Friday evening, 5-8 p.m., through Sept. 13.
The market provides an opportunity for residents and visitors in Spokane Valley to purchase fruit and produce, eggs, meat, cheese, honey, wine, cider, soap and other handmade items from local farms and vendors. The market also features area artists and crafters who display their art, wares and other creations. Attendees can enjoy wine or beer at the craft beer garden onsite, food from local vendors and food trucks, and music provided by area musicians.
A complete list of vendors will be available at the market. Potential vendors can apply to participate in the market by completing a vendor application.
CenterPlace is located at 2426 N. Discovery Place in Mirabeau Point Park. The location offers free public parking and quick access to I-90 from either Evergreen or Pines exits. Discovery Playground, an all-abilities play area for kids, is located adjacent to the market and public restrooms are also onsite.
The market is coordinated by the JAKT Foundation, a nonprofit that works to promote events focused on chefs and cultural celebration in the Intermountain Northwest, while partnering and highlighting Spokane Valley’s vibrant and healthy community. JAKT also sponsors Crave Northwest in July and Oktoberfest in September at CenterPlace.
